DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) CERTIFICATION

What is the DBE Certification?

The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program is a federally mandated certification administered through the Department of Transportation for businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. DBE certification is specifically designed for companies working in transportation, infrastructure, highway construction, transit, and related industries — sectors where the DOT requires prime contractors to meet DBE participation goals on federally funded projects.

If your business operates in construction, engineering, trucking, landscaping, or any other industry that supports transportation infrastructure, DBE certification can give you access to subcontracting opportunities and prime contracts that non-certified businesses simply cannot touch. Every state has a Unified Certification Program (UCP) through which DBE certification is administered — and GC Advising helps you navigate it.
